GATES
All of our top quality gates can be made to measure from FSC registered softwood or seasoned oak hardwood and manufactured by two East Anglian companies.
We can install a full selection of domestic pedestrian and driveway gates, and agricultural field and estate gates. If you find an image of a gate you like, then we can also get this made to your requirements.
The softwood gates are usually pressure-treated with preservative during the manufacturing process, but any tongue and grooved gates will need to be painted or stained by hand. All of the gates we use are fully framed, ledged and braced in the traditional manner, which ensures greater strength than the cheaper ledged and braced type. The gate furniture (hinges, latches, etc) are either galvanized or black painted steel and are usually adjustable to allow for any timber or ground movement. We can fit long throw key locks to the gates for extra security if required. The gates will be hung onto suitably sized gate posts from 100 x 100mm through to 200 x 200mm diameter and made from pressure-treated softwood or oak. Gates used in agricultural settings can also be hung onto posts made from pressure-creosoted softwood to increase the durability of the posts. We can also make use of a gate that you already have and will advise on suitability.
Our after care service means that we are happy to come out and make any adjustments to recently installed gates without charge, after they have had a chance to settle into their surroundings.
